One of the best aspects of the study trip is the chance to practice with the technology that we're going to rely on for the remainder of this project.  It's much easier to work out the bugs in the software and anticipate problems down the road when you've set up the technology in a face-to-face situation.

Above you can see pictures of the video conference and interim reports we did at the Sendai conference as well as some pictures of our weekly CUseeMe conferences.  We've had quite a time getting CUseeMe functioning here at Takayama Nishi.  I'm thankful that we're here so that we can work things out together.  This would be much more difficult, if not impossible, to do through a barrage of emails.
