Miss America
No, not the contest.
This is my first extended stay out of the country, so I thought I make a list of the little things I miss about America. Of course, there are many things I really enjoy about Japan, so the second list is things that I will miss most after returning home.
1. Chairs.
2. Doorways that are taller than I am.
3. In American restaurants fish are usually cooked, but are always
dead.
4. Being literate.
5. Sitting on the toilet.
6. Eating with my left hand without being questioned about it.
7. Cooked chicken.
8. If you don't like eel, it's not such a big deal.
9. Forks and spoons.
10. It's 40oC in San Antonio - time to go tubing!

10 THINGS I WILL MISS ABOUT JAPAN
1. Sumimasen.
2. Students who clean up after themselves.
3. Grown men reading comic books are not weird.
4. Bowing while you're on the telephone.
5. Sashimi.
6. You can get beer in a vending machine.
7. The variety of meat available on a stick.
8. Visiting a half-dozen vending machines is more fun than
going to the supermarket.
9. Wearing a suit and flip flops to work.
10. Riding on the left side of the road is a lot of fun! Especially
when I forget that we're supposed to be on the left.
