日本のクリスマスについて、発表します。

We are going to present you Japanese Christmas.

全部の家庭がキリスト教徒とはかぎらないし、仏教や神道を信じている人たちであっても、日本のほとんどの家庭では、クリスマスを祝います。

Most Japanese families celebrate Christmas, though not all families are Christians, and they are Buddhists or Shintoists.

１２月２４日に、家族でパーティをひらきます。

They have a family party in the December 24^th evening.

クリスマスツリーを飾りやライトで飾ります。

They decorate a Christmas tree with a lot of ornaments and colored lights.

クリスマスリースをつるすこともあります。

They also hang a Christmas wreath on the wall or door.

本物のもみの木ではなく、おもちゃ屋で売っているプラスチックのツリーを使います。

They use plastic Christmas trees which are sold in toyshops, not real fir trees.

プラスチックのツリーをとっておいて、毎年それを使います。

They keep the plastic tree at home and use it every year.

パーティではチキンを食べます。

At a party they eat chicken.

最近は、ケンタッキーフライドチキンを買う家が多く、家庭で料理することはほとんどありません。

Recently a lot of families buy fried chicken from Kentucky’s Fried Chicken and they don’t cook chicken at home.

クリスマスケーキも食べます。

We also eat Christmas cake.

クリスマスの日の、私達の一番の楽しみは何だと思いますか？

What is the most exciting thing of children on Christmas?

プレゼントをもらうことです。

Of course, receiving presents.

私達は、４年生全員に、「プレゼントには、どんなものがほしいですか。」というアンケート調査を行いました。

We asked to all 4 graders, ‘What do you want the most as a Christmas present?’

３位は、服です。

The third most answer was ‘clothes’.

２位は、ビデオです。

The second most answer was ‘video films’.

さて、問題です。第１位は何でしょう？

Now, question! What was the first most answer?

赤：音楽CD

Option red: a music CD

青：テレビやコンピューターゲームのソフト

Option blue: a TV or computer game’s software

黄：本かまんが本

Option yellow: a book or comic book

正解は、青のゲームソフトです。

The answer is option blue, game software.
