The Washington D.C. trip was a wonderful time of bonding and learning with our Japanese partners. We began our time together with site seeing and learning about education in the U.S. We toured many monuments and museums of special interest to the American culture: The White House, The Capitol, The Lincoln Memorial, The Jefferson Memorial, and several museums that are part of the Smithsonian including the Botanical Gardens, The Air and Space Museum, The Natural History Museum and The American History Museum.

The teams spent time together learning about American Education during our day at the U.S. Department of Education. There we participated in a Washington D.C. to Tokyo live video conference. We heard speakers share research regarding the impact of computers and the internet on children and education.
