From March 21-28, 2004, Ms. Junko Nagashima, Mr. Tomohiro Yamaguchi, and Mr. Tomiyuki Kinoshita of the Fujine Minami Elementary School in Fujinomiya, Japan, visited B-T. The goals of their visit were: 1) to become acquainted with American educational practices as well as the local culture and way of life; 2) to become acquainted with B-T students and staff; 3) to gain a sense of the B-T school environment; and 4) to observe first hand how information technology is incorporated into curriculum and classrooms in American education.
The educators observed our Upper School laptop environment, Middle and Lower School students at work in our computer labs, and SmartBoard use in preschool to grade 12, as well as our computerized libraries and regular classroom use of digital cameras. Together the B-T educator team (Mr. Don Hooper, Mrs. Judy Hartwig, and Mr. Kurt Sanders) and the Japanese educator team created the new B-T/Fujinomiya website.
