Fast Plants Updated Thursday, January 06, 2005 Three generations of fast plants are planned. Generation 1 fast plants were grown with packaged seed. Generation 2 fast plants were grown with seed harvested from generation 1. Generation 3 fast plants will be grown with some packaged seed used to grow generation 1 and some harvested seed used to grow generation 2. Generation 1 seed was grown in tap water. They grew tall, strong and produced lots of seed. Generation 2 seed were grown in two solutions: 1. sugar water 2. highly concentrated chemical fertilizer. Generation 2 plants did not grow strong nor tall. They did not produce seed. "Too much of a good thing" applies to plant food. Generation 3 plants will be grown in tap water to determine if the package seed is superior to harvested seed.
